  • Overview

    PURPOSE 

    The Cement Technician will work closely with employees from other departments including Maintenance and Shipping.   At times, the employee may have contact with Customers and Vendors and is expected to act with LafargeHolcim’s best interests in mind.  The incumbent must be able to take initiative to diagnose/correct mill operation issues without necessarily being asked or told to do so.  The incumbent is required to be knowledgeable of the plant process, quality and production requirements (training is provided), and operation of mobile equipment.

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Perform start up, normal operation, and shutdown of the referenced systems.
    • Perform equipment inspection and general housekeeping and miscellaneous tasks associated with production.
    • Perform quality checks to ensure mill is operating within quality specifications.
    • Meets plant safety requirements and follows safe work practices.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

    Required Education: High School Diploma/GED

     

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Computer skills, general working knowledge, as well as the ability to learn new software programs as required to operate the mill and other essential functions. 
    • Good Communications Skills
    • Normal working hours are 8 or 12 hour rotating shifts
