  • Overview

    PURPOSE

    Provide leadership and develop an operations performance management framework to promote operational excellence in logistics - developing and ensuring consistent application of value adding systems, processes, standards across LafargeHolcim U.S ACM. Focus areas include developing and embedding stretched distribution efficiency improvements for each Region, formulating action plans with local management and establishing lines of accountability for implementation. Create and sustain a highly motivated, capable and collaborative project team.

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Logistics Safety

    • Lead the implementation of a culture of zero Harm across LafargeHolcim U.S. ACM logistics, including third party carriers.
    • Communicate frequently OH&S expectations and current progress towards OH&S Objectives in the logistics area in conjunction with the safety team.
    • Provide recognition to those who demonstrate excellent safety performance and/or passion for safety.
    • Demonstrate the LafargeHolcim OH&S competencies at all times within the areas of direct responsibility and across LafargeHolcim U.S. ACM.
    • Ensure safety is considered at the fore front of all logistics initiatives

    Readymix Outsourcing Project

    • Lead the project to conclusion using the „Project Management Approach“(PMA) methodology.
    • Assemble and lead a team of regional experts and contributors to the project.
    • Drive the project by creating a sense of urgency.
    • Provide clear targets and milestones for the project.
    • Develop a detailed implementation plan for the project.
    • Ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget and to the expectations of all stakeholders.

    Planning, Reporting & Analysis

    • Develop / Maintain performance indicators related to distribution
    • Ensure indicators are accessible and shared with the business
    • Set / Track performance against targets with each market
    • Define comprehensive action plans to reach these targets

    Communications and Stakeholder Management

     

    • Communicate & present effectively to all relevant internal and external stakeholder groups.
    • Develop a close working relationship with all project team members.
    • Continually maintain a high level of engagement with all key stakeholders (internally and externally) and relevant LafargeHolcim personnel.
    • Ensure business managers are always aware of decisions made by the project that have an impact on their business. 

     

    People, Leadership and Change Management

    • Develop and embed a company-wide logistics performance management framework to enable more consistent and holistic performance measurement and accountability
    • Develop comprehensive change management programs for all project related actions and ensure they are embedded successfully. This will include close collaboration with HR for management of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
    • Ensure your projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the expectations of all stakeholders.
    • Complete the actions for the project on time and to the project specification.
    • Embed a project management governance culture.

    RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS

    Connect with the business on a regular basis to ensure engagement and commitment whilst helping them to transform the business. Develop an excellent understanding of how the Regional Readymix units function and use this knowledge to maximize the ability of the project to add value and “fit for business“ solutions.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Required Education:  Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree

    Additional Education Preferred: Master's/Graduate Degree

    Field of Study Preferred:  Supply Chain /: Logistics

    Required Work Experience:   10 Years in a related environment

    Travel Requirements:  30%

    Additional Requirements: Dispatch / Controller experience an asset

    Licenses Preferred:  Light vehicle

    Required Computer and Software Skills: SAP, Command, Trimble, 5 Cubits, DriveCam, MS Office
