  • Overview

    PURPOSE

    Performs various tasks associated with the inspection, Vibration measurement and analysis, alignment, balancing, lubrication, root cause failure analysis and repairs of mechanical systems.  This includes preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of plant equipment as needed.    

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and
    • Follows all safety procedures, checks for safety hazards, and takes corrective action to eliminate safety hazards.
    • Focuses and maintains a clean and orderly work area and participates in plant housekeeping activities. 
    • Performs tasks associated with maintaining mechanical systems throughout the plant.
    • Work with contractor personnel and ensure quality control as well as productivity.
    • Participates in formal and on-the job training programs to acquire/broaden both technical and non-technical job skills; participates in cross training activities.
    • Interacts with members of Process Areas on a regular basis to gather or communicate information, solve problems, etc
    • Perform vibration data collection.
    • Perform running and down inspections as required by the plant.
    • Review and monitor reliability based systems including preventative maintenance systems, vibration analysis, oil analysis and conditioning monitoring systems.
    • Perform alignment of various equipment and balancing of rotary equipment like fans, rotors etc.
    • Complete and document preventative maintenance routines.
    • Suggests programs that reduce/contain costs and/or increase productivity.  Takes independent action to resolve problems when appropriate.
    • Participates in team meetings.
    • Applies skills and performs work in other positions as assigned.
    • Be part of maintenance on call as per maintenance and plant needs.
    • Works rotating shift schedule and weekends as assigned.
    • Supports other plant functions as assigned.
    • Adheres to all company policies.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Required Education:  High School diploma/GED

    Additional Education Preferred: Associates/Technical Degree

    Required Training/Certifications:  Vibration Analysis- Level-I (ISO Category I, Entry Level) or equivalent analytical skills in similar role.  If not certified, be willing to get certified from Level-I to III.  

    Required Work Experience:   3-5 years

    Travel Requirements:  As required by company.

    Additional Requirements:

    • 3-5 years industrial experience is required, equivalent education may be considered.
    • Knowledge of overall cement plant operations, or comparable heavy industrial environment, is preferred.
    • Vibration Analysis Level-I or equivalent Analytical Experience is desired. If selected the applicant will be required to get certified in Vibration Analysis Level I to III (ISO Category I to III).
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills
