  • Overview

    PURPOSE

    Effectively and efficiently manage after hours orders and truck communication with order management of trucking operations and the movement of cement by truck (bulk, flatbed & LTL) inbound, intra-company, and outbound to the end customers.   Ensure product is delivered, orders are managed and free of exceptions.

     

    This opening is for a Night Shift, the person must be able to work this schedule.  

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Night shift hours may fluctuate depending on business needs and/or seasonality
    • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
    • Support the OH&S mission with the order desk team, carriers and customers across the regional area to influence the daily actions and behaviours of all
    • Ensure that the LafargeHolcim 5 rules of safety become a standard for Order Coordinators
    • Committed to safety in their daily activities
    • Encourages safety daily with customers and carriers
    • Updates Load Logs and spread sheets
    • Reprocess night cancellations
    • Monitor and track early morning carrier loads
    • Works to resolve customer issues with the local team to ensure customer expectations are met
    • Responsible for the management of exceptions by contacting the carrier and customer and updated the team and market manager to ensure no disruption in service
    • Ensures communication of key business information to Order Desk Manager, Order Management Coordinator teammates and the OMC Lead on a regular basis
    • Communicate effectively with ship locations and customers
    • Become thoroughly familiar with all customers and carriers in their market place
    • Coordinates the expediting of cement in the event of a failure either by the existing carrier or a new carrier
    • Track Proof of Deliveries
    • Track PPE incidents and accidents

     

    RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS

    This role will have relationships across a large scope of our company and external company. The roles will interact with customers and sales staff daily to ensure that customers and terminals are supplied as ordered. Interact with the OMC Lead and manage performance of carriers and enable constant customer supply.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Required Education:  High School diploma/GED

    Additional Education Preferred: Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree

    Field of Study Preferred:  Logistics/Supply Chain/Customer Service      

    Required Work Experience:   1-3 years of logistics / customer service experience

    Travel Requirements:  <5%

    Required Computer and Software Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
    • ERP (SAP in particular) experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems is a PLUS.
    • Cement industry experience preferred.
