  • Overview

    The Dispatcher for the Aggregate Industries, Moorhead, MN location, schedules and dispatches orders and provides excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction, minimize costs and promote company sales. The incumbent facilitates accurate and timely communication between the plant, field, customers and drivers.

     

    We operate seven regional construction materials businesses in the United States. The core business of producing crushed stone and sand & gravel is enhanced by downstream operations that produce ready mixed concrete, asphalt, and concrete products. In addition, recycling, liquid asphalt, soil remediation and retailing businesses are also in operation, creating true, vertically integrated divisions.

     

    Our regional businesses participate in all sectors of the construction industry, supplying aggregates-based materials and contracting services to a wide range of projects including large, publicly financed infrastructure projects, commercial, and residential developments.

    Responsibilities

    • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
    • Act as customer contact for delivery inquiries and coordinate the sales order delivery process.
    • Manage incoming internal and external customer phone calls, exercising judgment within specification of standard practices.
    • Ensure customer understands all relevant company policies including will calls, additional products ordered and driver responsibilities.
    • Inform customer of warnings concerning product hazards, load limits, vehicle weights and limitations.
    • Schedule workforce (drivers) on a daily basis with the intention of maximizing service and minimizing costs; manage drivers and monitor efficiencies throughout day.
    • Review next day orders to ensure are correctly mapped, have accurate travel times, address and delivery instructions.
    • Uses GPS tracking software
    • Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio

    Qualifications

    Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent

    Preferred Education: Associates Degree preferred.
    Required Work Experience: 2-3 years of transportation, dispatch experience; industry experience desired; not required

     

    Licenses Required: Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive an automobile
    Required Computer and Software Skills: Must have refined computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the internet.

    • This position is a Full time SEASONAL position with normal working months being April through November.
