  • Overview

    PURPOSE

    Support the procurement function within an operating company by maximizing efficiencies associated with the provision of material to the operation.

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
    • Manage all aspects of warehousing including handling stock reconciliation, incoming goods, issuing goods, receiving returned goods, inventory, quality and inspection stock.
    • Implement and manage warehousing strategies, policies and procedures as defined by the Inventory Manager to ensure that movement and storage of goods is effective throughout the operating company.
    • Drive improvement and results in operational efficiency and inventory strategies.
    • Ensure warehousing KPI’s are defined and measured to support effective operations. Prepare and publish warehousing reports to demonstrate performance.
    • Take responsibility to receive, store, and dispatch goods; track shipments; coordinate import and export activities; and interface with internal and external customers and suppliers as necessary.
    • Ensure warehouse strategies that assure plant reliability are properly defined and enforced.
    • Implement warehouse management policy and best practice procedures.
    • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements are met in the warehouse.
    • Create SAP Contracts and MRP orders.
    • Work closely with other functions such as maintenance, production, and finance to effectively support the operation.
    • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of stock to the operation.

    • Plant Managers and Supervisors, Technicians, and Operators
    • May directly supervise other employees

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Required Education:  Bachelor Degree with at least 3 years of experience or High School Diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience

    Field of Study Preferred:  Purchasing, Logistics, Planning

    Required Work Experience:  At least 3 years in purchasing or warehouse management or 3 years in a manufacturing environment, production or maintenance

    Preferred Training/Certifications:  Certified Purchasing Manager   

    Required Computer and Software Skills:  Proficient in MS Office, Good SAP knowledge

    Travel Requirements:  Low
