  • Overview

    PURPOSE

    As a member of the Ductal® team, the Ductal® Architectural Intern will be responsible for coordinating the successful completion of all technical aspects related to the performance of the Ductal® concrete product in architectural projects across North America. They will help with training and supporting customers along with providing design assistance on projects throughout the Tri-state area.

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Training of customers and Universities in utilizing Ultra High Performance Concrete technology.
    • Inspection of construction activities in accordance with established quality procedures.
    • Ensure projects are completed safely and on schedule.
    • Training of less experienced workers on work methods.
    • Safe utilization, storage and maintenance of all documents and tools.
    • Prepare and submit accurate, legible, comprehensive and complete calculations and drawings.
    • Contact assigned direct report for priorities and deadlines for assigned tasks.
    • Coordinate concurrent projects ranging from $2,000 to $10 million in value.
    • Provide assistance to contractors and customers on the manufacture of the Ultra High Performance Concrete products.
    • Provide technical support to customers, universities and government agencies.

     

    RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS

    This position involves constant communication with architects and engineers. Strong interpersonal skills are required in order to maintain product quality while maintaining production output at an optimum level. Communication will also include daily correspondence with Ductal Architecture Business Development Managers for guidance, assignments and schedule updates.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Education:  Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree

    Field of Study Preferred:  Civil Engineering/Construction Management

    Required Training/Certifications:  OSHA 10-Hour and ACI Field Technician Level 1 are a plus   

    Required Computer and Software Skills: Microsoft Excel and Word

    • Materials experience in cement, concrete and/or plastic materials.
    • Knowledge of materials used in construction.
    • Experience in the precast and/or construction industry is an asset

    MOBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    • Some travel is required within the tri-state area to various job-sites.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and exposed to noise, dust, and fumes.
    • · Work related responsibilities require travel out of town to client offices and project locations.
