  • Overview

    PURPOSE

    The Lubrication Technician’s primary objective is to ensure reliable plant operation through lubrication routes, including but not limited to replenishing, inspection, oil sampling, and root cause analysis.

     

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
    • Root cause failure analysis
    • Troubleshoot lubrication problems in rotating machinery
    • Must be able to operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment
    • Assist in formulating preventative maintenance/lubrication standards and work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback
    • Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job
    • Sample oil per PM schedule, label samples and send for analysis and in turn review results and recommend actions based on analysis, and add new sample points as necessary
    • Ensure thorough documentation of all lubrication and predictive maintenance activities
    • Complete required training program(s), including but not limited to, Lube-It, LafargeHolcim Lubrication Technician Certification Program, Lubrication Technicians in Machinery Lubrication Level 1 & 2, Lubrication Technicians in Machinery Oil Analysis Level 2 and Noria Courses
    • Other duties as assigned by Reliability Supervisor

     

     

    RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS

    • Assist co-workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment
    • Assist team(s) with maintaining, operating and troubleshooting systems and equipment
    • Train others in new skill techniques, on new equipment and on repetitive job procedures, or lubrication procedures and techniques
    • Actively participate in department meetings and facility teams relating to the improvement of the Reliability Team, plant safety, quality, innovation and efficiency

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Required Education:  High School diploma/GED or 2 years of equivalent experience.

    Additional Education Preferred: Associates/Technical Degree 

    Required Computer and Software Skills: Microsoft Office Suite  

    Travel Requirements:  As necessary for training

     

    Additional Requirements: Prior mechanical experience, good communication skills, intricate Hand-Eye coordination and ability to walk over uneven surfaces, ability to climb, sit, stoop and work in tight spaces as required.
