  • Overview

    PURPOSE

     

    The Senior Vice President, Supply Chain is responsible for the management and optimization of all aspects of supply chain planning and execution together with management of all terminals/yards for US Cement and certain elements of Aggregates supply chain activities.  In addition, this position has responsibility for Order to Cash systems and processes for all product lines. For all teams this scope includes safety, people development, costs, Capex management, operational efficiency, supply fulfilment and continuous improvement.

     

    Location Options:  Dundee, MI and Corporate headquarters in Chicago, IL

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
    • Through the logistics and supply chain function, ensure customer demand requirements are met at lowest cost and highest margin with world class processes, systems and people.  
    • Lead the end-to-end supply chain tools, processes, costs, KPI’s and team development
    • Accountable for accurate demand planning/projections and management reporting to facilitate plant operations, logistics operations and costs and to improve business insight and ensure improvement
    • Ensure the SOP process is defined and followed consistently, achieving optimization on low cost for North American supply flows
    • Develop high performance team through talent development, succession planning, training and leadership techniques
    • Ensure continuous improvement in costs, processes, people and efficiencies
    • Transparency and reporting of key KPI’s and cost elements with reasons and mitigation of variances
    • Identify, propose and ensure implementation of synergies and debottlenecking initiatives in all transport modes and terminals
    • Responsible for Order to Cash Processes for both companies that ensure consistency and improvement in business processes for the Sales cycle – from lead generation to cash collection – for all sales transactions in both cement and ACM
    • Ensure the integration of the two company people, systems, processes, tools and KPI


    RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS

    • CEO’s – Cement and ACM member of respective EXCO’s representing Supply Chain and Terminals.  Coordinate, interact and discuss all responsibilities above
    • SVP Manufacturing and SVP Sales - recommend and execute supply chain strategies and plans for production, inventory levels, and sourcing.  Advise on short and medium term supply chain issues – flooding, plant outages, etc. and recommend solutions.
    • Chief Legal Counsel – interactions with competitors  / anti-trust matters / contractual arrangements with competitors / Sales Group General Managers.  Collaborate on supply plans and implementing short and long term supply changes.  Act as key point of contact in Supply Chain and Logistics topics
    • All other Cement and ACM EXCO members on as needed basis
    • Area EXCO member – reporting on synergies, integration and supply chain initiatives and activities
    • Canadian CEO’s – reporting on SOP process and cross border flows

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

     

    Required Education:  Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree

    Additional Education Preferred: Master's/Graduate Degree

    Field of Study Preferred:  Finance / MBA / Supply Chain

     

    Required Work Experience:   15 years

    Travel Requirements 60%

    Required Computer and Software Skills: SAP / Microsoft Suite / Qlikview
