  • Overview

    The batch plant operator is responsible for making quality concrete and providing it in a timely manner to the production crew. It is the batch plant operator’s responsibility to ensure that all the concrete we produce meets the required specifications.


    • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
    • Schedule filling of aggregate storage and cement silos. Check on all material what is required to produce concrete (fly ash, silica fumes, admixture, pigments and such). If stock is low, re-order.
    • Fill aggregate bins, refill as needed.
    • Keep Mixer and batch plant area clean.
    • Manage controls to weigh and mix aggregate, Cement, admixture Water and pigment to produce concrete that conforms to processing specifications.
    • Ensure all equipment is working properly; it may require the use of hand tool and power tools.
    • Monitor all preventative and regular maintenance on equipment.
    • Ensure all company regulations and policies are followed
    • Ensures that safety, compliance and environmental requirements are followed at all times
    • Uses computer or manual controls, efficiently batches product with proper mix and making necessary raw material adjustments; understands the proper use of each mix design
    • Completes customer orders, schedule deliveries, paperwork and small plant maintenance
    • May run front end loader or other material handling equipment to charge plant with aggregate, sand or other materials; assists plant management as needed with other duties as assigned
    • Effectively communicates with the drivers to efficiently complete customer orders; ability to schedule deliveries to meet the customer needs



    • High school diploma or GED
    • Minimum of 1-3 years of related customer service or dispatch environment experience
    • Excellent oral (telephone) communication skills; bi-lingual communications skills are a plus; ability to professionally interact with internal and external customers
    • Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time; able to prioritize work; strong organization skills
    • Experience with dispatch systems, personal computer, telephone
    • Light mechanical experience
